HDFC Bank Recruitment : PO, Manager, and Junior Officers
69Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Bank Ltd. is considered as the best private bank of India. It has consistently won the award for being the best MANAGED Bank of India. Though, it is not the biggest private bank as the ICICI hold record and is far away from it, but in terms of customer’s satisfaction and providing satisfactorily service it is the best private bank of India.
Being the best in the industry matters lots, not only for its customers but also for those aspirants who want to join it.
One can join HDFC Bank through two ways. First, through campus selection. Every year HDFC organizes campus selection in premier B-Schools and others. Students should prepare themselves for these recruitment drives. Understanding the basic concepts of banking and every thing about HDFC will help them to tackle these campus selection in an effective manner.
And second, through participating in the direct off-campus recruitment drives of the bank. This article is about the second process to join the bank. The Assistant Manager at HDFC Bank is equivalent to Probationary Officer [PO] of other banks.
The HDFC Bank’s website has a special section through which an aspirant can register himself and wait for a call. However, since the bank continuously gets lots of resume through its website the waiting period to be considered for interview can be elongated for much longer time.
The shortest and the best way to get an interview call from HDFC Bank is to drop your resume to one of the Regional Centre of the Bank. You should also ensure that the regional center in which you are dropping your resume is also the house of the HR department of the Bank. It is not tough to find the office of the HR department of the Bank. Just visit any branch of the bank and ask for the same.
The recruitment process for PO in HDFC bank is quite dissimilar than that of ICICI Bank. The ICICI Bank has a separate institution for this process where the selected few get one year training in Bangalore. HDFC Bank doesn’t ask you to join any institution or to deposit huge sum of money like ICICI Bank. To become PO [the Assistant Manager] all you need to do is to qualify their selection process. Just drop your resume at an appropriate place and wait for your turn. There is quite a hot probability that you will get a call and then it is all up to you to get selected.

Remember to do your homework before interview. Mug up all history related to the HDFC bank and another area that you need to soak yourself in is the current affairs related to Indian Economy. It is a trend that questions are generally asked from these sections in HDFC interviews.

ICICI Bank does not ask for any deposit. Infact even the money for the fees is given by the bank at a subsidised rate and hence the students do not have to give even 1 rupee from their own pockets
ICICI Bank takes you through a 1-year course because it offers a higher grade. I don’t know what grade the POs join as in HDFC, I think it is assistant manager but designations are confusing. I am told the POs at ICICI join at a higher level
